The FIP Beyond Greenoak Open is currently underway in Miami (October 16–18), making it the most important FIP-sanctioned international event on U.S. soil this fall. The tournament takes place at Padel X Miami with six outdoor courts and eight indoor backup courts in Boca Raton, featuring divisions from +40 to +60 for both women and men — a format that directly targets the high-income recreational player segment most relevant to investors.
The USPA has officially confirmed that padel has surpassed one million players in the United States, according to the 2026 Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) Topline Participation Report. Club membership grew 51.5% year-over-year in 2025. October is now nationally recognized as Padel Month, and the USPA has launched a New Player Program Finder to lower the barrier to entry for beginners.
On the competitive side, the U.S. junior national team had an outstanding week, claiming two titles and two runner-up finishes at the Pan American Junior Circuit Finals in San Diego — the best international performance by a U.S. junior team to date. The USPA also announced the first-ever National Collegiate Padel Championships, a landmark step in establishing padel's pipeline within American university sports culture.
Infrastructure is keeping pace: the U.S. now counts over 1,200 padel courts across 330+ open clubs, with 30 additional facilities either under construction or breaking ground. Florida leads with approximately 41% of all U.S. courts, while secondary markets like Orlando, Denver, Chicago, Boise, Portland, and Columbus are rapidly entering the scene for the first time. Padel N9NE opened in San Diego as the country's first official adidas Padel flagship facility.
On the global competition front, the FIP General Assembly held on October 13 confirmed membership at 115 national federations — a record — underscoring the sport's accelerating international governance. Meanwhile, the OYSHO Milano Premier Padel P1 (October 12–18) produced major upsets this week, with Garrido and De Pascual beating top seeds on Day 4 in Milan.
The padel investment landscape in the United States continues to mature, with institutional and franchise-level capital now flowing into the sport.
The Pro Padel League (PPL) closed a $15 million Series A earlier this year led by Rick Schnall, co-chairman of the Charlotte Hornets (NBA). The round builds on $10 million in seed funding received in 2025, and funds are going toward expanding the league's front office, building infrastructure, and creating a full national event calendar. This is the clearest signal yet that U.S. sports franchise owners are treating padel as a viable professional league opportunity.
